What is it?
This free template allows you to bend, curve, or curl any layer in three dimensions in Adobe After Effects. It's compatible with the Classic 3D renderer, so it will work in all your projects. Simply import the template, drop your layer into the precomp, and use the intuitive controls to create a custom curve on your layer.
Layer Bender offers some handy features that aren't available in the Geometry Options of the Cinema 4D renderer, such as the ability to apply multiple bends to a single layer. Easily adjust the curve’s width to create sharp bends at specific points or smooth, gradual curves across the entire layer. Adjust the direction of the bend, curl your layer into a spiral, and add unlimited segments for higher resolution bends. Whether it's images, footage, text, shapes, solids, or even other precomps, Layer Bender works with any layer type.

The 8-Bit Animation Effect is compatible with Adobe After Effects 2022 and Premiere Pro 2022 (and all later versions). Works in both Windows and macOS. No plugins required.
This template has been universalized, so it will work for users running After Effects in other languages.
The After Effects template includes comps in both HD (1920x1080) and UHD (3840x2160). The MOGRT is HD only, and has a duration of 30 seconds. It can't be extended, but the 8-Bit Effect tutorial shows a workaround for longer clips.
