What is it?
The Fabric Effect transforms your footage or graphics into stylized, stop motion animations imitating sewn pieces of fabric and textiles. Just drop in your footage to give it a hand-crafted fabric look that you can customize with easy controls to carry out your artistic vision. Swap out the fabric textures, adjust the stitching, edit the lighting, the stop motion effect, and more.
The Fabric Effect is an After Effects template that includes two different custom looks for your footage. These looks use images of fabric and various patterns to create a unique, animated collage unlike anything you can achieve from other computer-generated effects. The effects are taken from the Creation Art Effects template, a bundle of over 50 art effects for your footage, imitating a variety of artistic mediums such as claymation, pencil drawings, watercolor painting, paper cutouts, and many more.

This animation preset is compatible with After Effects 2020 (v.17) and up. It works in both Windows and macOS – all you need is After Effects. The included ReadMe.html shows where to install the file on your hard drive. Watch the above video for tips on achieving different looks.
