What is it?

This free template for Adobe After Effects includes eleven customizable 3D shapes for using in your motion designs. Compatible with the Classic 3D Renderer, these shapes seamlessly integrate into any project. Built with Shape layers, they offer infinite scalability without losing resolution, and can be easily customized with strokes or unique paths using After Effects’ Shape effects.

The included shapes are: cylinder, sphere, dodecahedron, polygonal prism, cuboid, parallelepiped, cube, stretchable pyramid, 4-sided pyramid, tetrahedron, and cone. Each comes with intuitive controls for adjusting appearance and can be maneuvered effortlessly with the 3D Transform Gizmo.

Additional features include snapping the anchor point to the center, edge, or corner of the shape. With the pyramids and polygonal prism, you can easily choose any number of sides for the shape. For example, a 3-sided pyramid can transformed into a cone with 30 sides, or an octogonal prism can become a triangular prism.

The Cylinder and Sphere shapes use After Effects' built-in CC Cylinder and CC Sphere effects. Though technically 2D effects, expressions enable them to behave like true 3D objects. complete with realistic shadows and interaction with 3D gizmo, cameras, and lights

Shapes are a fundamental component of motion design – like text and images. These versatile geometric shapes are an excellent addition to any motion designer’s toolkit!
