What is it?
This free Adobe After Effects template includes a free, customizable sky rig with a sun, moon, stars, clouds, and automatic lighting for different times of day. With Auto Sky, you can create a perfect daytime, nighttime, or sunset sky for compositing with your scenes.
An intuitive "Clock" control lets you instantly set the time of day, and by keyframing the Clock control, you can create time lapses to show the passage of time. Included in Auto Sky are multiple star backgrounds and multiple cloud types to choose from. The clouds are made in After Effects, and can be customized and animated to move across the sky. All elements of the sky can be customized with easy controls.
Auto Sky is one of the 24 nature effects developed for the Landscaper template, which lets anyone create stunning 3D landscape animations in After Effects. Landscaper will let you add elements to your sky like fog, atmospheric haze, birds, auroras, insects, water reflections, and much more.
Details
This free After Effects project includes both HD and 4K comps, and is compatible with Adobe After Effects, versions 17 (2020) and all later versions. It works in both Windows and macOS – all you need is After Effects.
This effect uses CC Ball Action – a 3D effect on a 2D layer. It's compatible with the camera's Position but does not support depth of field.
This effect has been universalized, and will work in After Effects running in any language.
