What is it?
Wisp allows you to create 3D trails of particles in After Effects. With 50 wisp presets, the particles can be used to imitate trails of fire, liquid, smoke, ink, sparks, lightning, bubbles, sand, and a variety of abstract shapes. The wisps can follow any moving layer, and you can customize them with easy-to-use controls.
Tasks that were once nearly impossible in After Effects are now simple to implement - like making lightning follow a complex path, writing out text with bleeding ink, or creating a thickening 3D vine. Designed to be flexible and customizable, this tool is certain to help bring your motion graphics and title animations to the next level.
Details
This free After Effects project includes both HD and 4K comps, and is compatible with Adobe After Effects, versions 17 (2020) and all later versions. It works in both Windows and macOS – all you need is After Effects.
This effect uses CC Ball Action – a 3D effect on a 2D layer. It's compatible with the camera's Position but does not support depth of field.
This effect has been universalized, and will work in After Effects running in any language.
