Scribe - Brushstroke Write-On Effect

What is it?

Scribe is an After Effects template (with optional animation presets) that lets you create custom brush and pen strokes in Adobe After Effects. The built-in stroke tools in After Effects don't cut it when you need realistic paintbrush textures, calligraphic writing, chalk marks, or hand-drawn lines. With this brushstroke tool, you can quickly select from a variety of stroke presets, and customize their look with intuitive controls.

Choose from a variety of stroke styles such as calligraphy pens, chalk, marker, pencil, pen, spray paint, and various paintbrush strokes. Easily animate a write-on effect for your stroke, and customize behaviors such as how the brush's width and streak amount change as the stroke writes itself out. The strokes will follow any path that you draw with the Pen tool. And with the included Stop Motion Effect, you can give your stroke a choppy hand-drawn animation look – ideal for animated doodles and mixed media animations.

The template includes two animation presets that can be installed for quick access inside After Effects.

• Basic Preset – Creates a wide range of strokes and lines using fast-rendering Shape Layer effects.

• Echo Preset – Uses the Echo effect to generate high-quality paint strokes with natural width variation, ideal for calligraphy and expressive brushwork.
